Restoring natural habitats

Habitat Restoration

While some areas of Lolldaiga Valley feature intact natural habitat, much of the land (particularly in the south-west) is heavily degraded. Lolldaiga Valley will stabilise eroded areas and carry out extensive grassland and woodland restoration.

Partnerships will be formed with local community landowners who we will finance to create indigenous tree nurseries. This effort will support habitat restoration both within the LV area and on the southern bank of the river (where we are actively seeking collaborations with conservation-minded neighbours to expand the conservation area over time).

Lolldaiga Valley will also finance sustainable wood fuel plantations (in partnership with neighbouring community landowners) as a means to alleviate pressure on natural forests within the LV and elsewhere.

Nature Finance

In addition to the local habitat restoration initiatives described above, Lolldaiga Valley has also committed to providing substantial conservation finance support to initiatives in the Lolldaiga Hills area and related community initiatives.
